New Free Homeopathic Online Software; PhaseRep

PhaseRep is a radically new way of repertorizing and studying cases. The repertory is based on the following simple ideas:

1. Some symptoms are more commonly seen in practice than others. For example, a cold or a cough is more common than a pain in the toes.

2. Some symptoms are more important in a homoeopathic prescription than others. For example, a/f grief is more important (or useful) than eruptions on the legs (given no additional information).

3. Combinations of symptoms often indicate remedies with reasonable accuracy, and often the remedy is found to cover the other complaints. For example, fat, chilly, sweaty, obstinate children with craving for eggs.

4. When a drug is truly indicated in a patient (similimum), the patient nearly always has other symptoms of the drug. For example, if Nat-mur is indicated, the patient often has a craving for salt, is hot, and dislikes consolation.

Based on this understanding, PhaseRep was created in this manner:

The most common rubrics found in patients and drugs were taken, especially those which are most important or useful. Following repertorizing of the rubrics, you get confirmatory rubrics to test that the drug is indeed the similimum. Special combinations are picked up automatically by the program to suggest drugs directly, rather than via the standard repertorization. So even if 14 rubrics are taken and they give Bryonia, the program would still remind you to study Calcarea in a child who is obstinate, fat, chilly, sweaty and craves eggs. It does not matter to the program that the other rubrics are not covered. A very classic presentation will result in the drug being flagged and brought up for study.

The special feature of PhaseRep is that the program again repertorizes the case, taking your 'confirmatory' symptoms. Thus, if you have selected "complaints go from left to right" as well as "empty sensation in the chest with cough" - the program repertorizes all rubrics again, including these, and gives you the best possible suggestion. That is why the program is called PhaseRep...it repertorizes in two phases.
